Gulgen Care Ltd became a registered company on April 7, 2020. 
The company services the Northern Rivers region of NSW, with goals of expanding to other regions inclusive of the South and West Coast of NSW; Brisbane, Cherbourg in Queensland; and Cairns in Far North Queensland.

The company was established by a husband-and-wife team who themselves are supporting a child with a complex disability. 

The husband-and-wife team could see the disability service delivery gaps to the Aboriginal people of Northern Rivers Region of NSW and so embarked on developing this business model to meet the needs of Aboriginal people who were experiencing lack of support, services, and quality cultural understanding of what these specific supports would require.

 With the support of an external non-Indigenous NDIS Service Provider, Gulgen Care Ltd was developed to form a partnership to provide an Indigenous Disability Support Service with a Cultural Framework of service delivery. 
This partnership also gave opportunity for Gulgen Care Ltd to extend their work with the Aged Care sector and develop extensive partnerships through this sector from Tweed Heads to the Northern Rivers Region of NSW. 

There are currently up to 12 staff working for Gulgen Care, which includes the three very active Directors. 

Gulgen Care’s vision was to create an Indigenous workforce in which this Company could provide employment and career pathways for Indigenous people. 

Gulgen Care’s future strategic plans are to expand this service to other Indigenous communities existing of South NSW, Queensland and other Indigenous communities who may require this service.
